Hospitals Hiring during the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Take a deep breath, breathe in, and breathe out. If you’re like us, you probably need it right now. Whether you’re new to the medical field or you’ve been in it for years, thinking about being on the front-lines of a pandemic can be both exciting and nerve-racking at the same time. Whether you’re looking for your first job, a supplement job or you’re looking for other opportunities; we’ve compiled a list of hospitals hiring during the coronavirus (Covid-19) to make your search a little less stressful.

Medical Staffing Agencies

One of your best options for getting hired during a pandemic will be by going through a staffing agency. Staffing agencies are utilized by hospitals whenever a unit is short-staffed. This won’t be permanent, and it’s possible that you’re at a new hospital each shift, but it will help you get your foot in the door. You’re also more likely to be paid higher than the full-time workers since you’re in an on-call role.

Going through a staffing agency is also a commonly preferred method for veteran hospital workers because its a great way to test the waters. You can get a feel for the community culture, and everything else you wished you knew before accepting a job somewhere. You’ll also want to keep in mind that most places won’t hire full-time employees when the country is in a state of emergency. Most positions will be temp positions, and if it seems to be a good fit and there’s a need, you have the opportunity to go on full time when your temp-position is over.

Hospitals

Are you looking to get a job at a specific hospital? Try going direct. Some hospitals pay recruiters and a portion of your salary or even your hiring bonus. Visit your desired hospital directly and apply straight on their website. Search “bonus” or “covid19” for additional bonus pay opportunities. Below is a list of active hiring hospitals across the US. Not all are listed, just the ones we were were able to pull for you.

Interviewing

Are you wondering how the interview process and on-boarding process will work during the Covid-19 pandemic? Most hospitals are transitioning to alternative solutions to decrease the number of people they have to meet with in-person daily. Additionally, a lot of HR staff are now working remotely from home. You’ll need to have a computer or phone camera ready and make sure to download all the top video conferencing software and test it out with friends and family. Ther’s nothing worse than showing up late to a meeting because you didn’t have the program downloaded, or you realized that you need a computer with a microphone for people to hear you.

Thank you for being a hero, saving lives and putting yours on the line for others. No words can express how vital the role is you’re playing to make a difference, and we thought you should know how much you’re appreciated.
